It’s That Time Again

There’s a reason there are aphorisms such as “Time flies “.  Mario and I have had a busy year, with our latest addition to our small family and everything that entails, and we actually had a mini-vacation about two weeks ago.  We really needed that day off!  But I digress.  This year’s “Best of…” voting just slipped right past us, we’ve been so busy.  Time flew, and before we knew it, we found out that our loyal customers and friends had cast their say.  We are grateful that, once again, we came away with flying colors in multiple categories; best casual dining, best catering, best ethnic food, best lunch and best Mexican food.  So before I let any more time fly by (I know, enough with the tempus fugit already!), Mario and I wanted to thank you all sincerely for voting us the Best of the Best of Colfax and to let you know that we look forward to continuing to serve everyone for the upcoming year!

A New Addition

The owners of Cafe Luna would like to introduce a new addition to their family, Mael.  A healthy baby boy born in the wee hours of December 28th.  Isn’t he cute?!

The cafe will be open for breakfast and lunch for the rest of the week, no dinner service.  That will resume next week, starting January 3rd.  Happy New Year, everyone!

Welcome little Mael!

Busy Mario

We’ve been so busy here at our cafe!  With the article in the Foothills magazine – pg 26! and warmer weather, our waiting times for service had sneaked up to an hour.  Gasp!  When informed of this, most of you decided to wait it out – thank you! thank you! – but we knew this couldn’t continue.  Our food is great, but we understand that our customers have busy lives and can’t consistently spend a leisurely hour waiting for their lunch or dinner.

As it happens sometimes, when need reaches a certain point, help comes along from the most unexpected source.  In this case, Mario’s brother, Benjamin Cerecedo.  He is also an accomplished cook and has worked in many Santa Cruz restaurants and most recently

Benjamin

Mr. Benjamin Cerecedo

opened a new restaurant on the Santa Cruz wharf, Firefish.  The need to be closer to family and see his nieces grow up was the motivation for him to make the move to our small town, and he couldn’t have come at a better time.  He loves Colfax and he and Mario have been hatching up plans for new specials, new menu items and expanded hours.  There will be a lot more for you lunatics to love and there will be more reasons for those who haven’t tried our awesome food to get on in here!
